Sun and Illinois winters turn wood gray and let mildew move in. Wood that stays like that splinters, checks and rots faster. The good news is that most decks and fences can be brought back without replacing boards.
Our restoration process
- Clean: low pressure with a wood-safe cleaner that lifts dirt, mildew and gray fibers without furring or gouging the wood.
- Strip (if needed): we remove failing old stain so the new coat bonds.
- Brighten: we bring the wood's color back and balance its pH so stain absorbs evenly.
- Protect: once the wood is dry, we stain or seal it. See our staining service.
Fences
We restore wood privacy fences, picket fences and split-rail. We also clean vinyl fencing, which tends to grow green on the shady side.
Common questions
How long after cleaning can the deck be stained?
The wood needs to dry fully first, usually a couple of days of good weather. We'll schedule staining accordingly.
Do you replace boards?
Call us about it. We'll point out any boards that should be replaced before staining.
Composite decks?
Yes, we clean composite decking too, using lower pressure and products that are safe for it.
